Robson Ranch Denton Pickleball Club

Welcome to Robson Ranch, where Pickleball Rocks!

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball at Robson Ranch Denton (RRDPC)

Where can I learn to play?

To get started, you'll want to register for the Pickleball Academy. This is a one-night introduction to Pickleball. You'll learn the history of the sport, the four phases of a Pickleball point,  basic Pickleball skills, and how to keep score.  Paddles will be provided if you need one.

After you graduate from the Academy, you will join the D level play group. Learning doesn't stop after Academy, however. You'll find additional Player Development opportunities under the LESSONS, SKILLS, AND TRAINING menu. These sessions are offered for a modest fee and are offered throughout the year.

What about equipment?

You don't need much to get started in the sport:

  • Court shoes (please no running shoes)
  • Pickleball Paddle
  • The RRDPC provides indoor and outdoor balls for organized club play.

Do I have to be a member to play?

All Robson Ranch residents must join the Robson Ranch Denton Pickleball Club (RRDPC) in order to play on the indoor and outdoor courts 3 - 16 during club time and to participate in club activities. The cost to join is $30/year.  Join here

After Academy, when can I play?

You'll find plenty of play opportunities on both the inside and outside courts. Outdoor and Indoor schedules are posted under the FACILITIES tab and is organized by skill levels:  D through A. Casual group play is managed by the GroupMe app. This app is available at no charge in the app store.

Ratings Process/Advancement

When you graduate from the Academy, you will be rated a D and will be added to the D group for organized club play.  If you enjoy the game and work to advance your skills, there's a process for advancing to the next level. You can read more about the rating advancement process here.
